DJ Pain 1 Speaks Out on His Involvement with the Alfamega vs. T.I. Beef

Here’s one of the latest examples of emcees hopping on a producer’s track without their acknowledgement. In this case, the song was used as a diss track and ended up dragged our homie DJ Pain 1 [read our interview with him] into the middle of the beef. DJ Pain 1 uses this video to sort of “clear the air.” Here’s what he’s got to say…

“This video shows the the truth about the so-called “dis track” that Alfamega recorded, entitled “Round One.” How do I know so much about the situation? I produced the song, didn’t receive credit for it and wasn’t aware that it existed until I stumbled on it online. Here’s some information regarding whether or not the song was actually a dis. Also, this video is meant to show aspiring producers the risks of sending music to major label artists.”

This video was both disappointing & inspiring. Disappointing because a producer’s hard work was put out in the world and ended being associated with conflict. But on the flip side, if Alfamega was still on Grand Hustle no “diss” rumors would have been started and this track could have ended up on his album. Inspiring because if that scenario was played out I’m sure the beat would have been cleared and credited because the track is HOT. When an artist is in ‘go mode’ they probably don’t really care where a beat came from if it’s HOT and they can make a good song off of it until it comes time to pay. I’m sure there are countless people who would kill for say a Kanye track until they get the bill but that’s the process.
If DJ Pain 1 ever reads this comment I would like him to know that even though he is of the opinion that this track is “dead” that I now know his name and will be checking for him so…MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

    Peace Tye:

I AM reading and I definitely appreciate your support. It is an unfortunate situation, but thanks to people like you and Kevin Nottingham, the small misfortune is becoming more of a good opportunity to share insight and spin a bad situation into a positive one.

    Thanks,
    P1
