Jayz-hardknock

“Ride or Die” has Jay throwing some not so subtle shots at Ma$e for some unknown reason to me.  Jay really started to hit his stride with Vol. 2.  This album highlights his confidence, arrogance, and hit making ability.  “Ride or Die” was a good start to an above average album.

Lyrics (OHHLA) and YouTube video after the cut.

“Ride or Die” (Verse 1)

“Aiyyo fuck y’all, niggaz I crush y’all, rush y’all
with the four drawn and I touch y’all, plus y’all
little motherfuckers ain’t ready for war
I seen your team in a crisis before, thought I forgot?
The same rules apply, don’t try to switch up your style
Y’all niggaz is pumpkin pie, and that’s plain as I
much better than you cat, shocked when I got the news that
this nigga ready for war, well where that fool at?
I bruise wack rap niggaz severely punish them
Especially those that get fucked for they publishing, heh
Always gotta be the weakest nigga out the crew
I probably make more money off yo’ album, than you
You see the respect I get everytime I come through
Check your own videos, you’ll always be number two
Niggaz talkin real greasy on them R&B records
but I’m platinum a million times nigga, check the credits
S. Carter, ghost writer, and for the right price
I can even make YO’ shit tighter
I roast niggaz like ya, smoke niggaz like ya
Take your little jewels and put the toast to niggaz like ya
You know what the fuck we do and why we done it
How I bring it to niggaz who, probably want it
Keep playin, you gon’ find me in your lobby blunted
And I don’t even smoke nigga, ain’t no joke
Niggaz cat fightin with Jigga, kickin sneaky shit
Makin little tapes but keepin it secret
Cause I kick that deep shit that divide your peeps shit
Now I don’t know if you fuckin with Jigga
spittin that weak shit y’all”

I agree re: Vol.2, actually. Where is this post?

  • http://kevinnottingham.com Sean Deez

    it was on facebook Charity.

I was just talking about how I felt Vol 2 is horrible except for 3-4 tracks.

This album was a bunch of singles. I think he said that. Would be interested to know what 3-4 songs you that are the exception?

  • Charity

Uhh, BP2 was a bunch of album singles.

I disagree with that to a certain degree. “Hovi Baby,” “Guns & Roses,” “Some How, Some Way,” “Meet the Parents,” “Nigga Please,” “Show You How,” “B’s & Sisters,” “My Way,” “The Bounce,” “The Watcher,” etc are not singles. I could have kept going. “03′…” “Excuse Me Miss,” etc are the singles.

To help yall out I saw a vid recently where Jay was asked about his beef with Mase. He explained it like this. Basically said how it stemmed from Mase lines (dont know what song he was quoting) saying something bout “u niggas talkin platinum this, platinum that………..you aint got no platinum plaques” I believe it was btwn Vol 1 and Vol2 cuz Jay said at the time he just went gold and was going hard for platinum. Being a nigga with a ton of pride he took it a way. He also said Mase had some tape floating around the streets of NY going at him but it never came out.
