The album cover for Wale’s upcoming debut album has been floating around the Net this evening. I love a good cover. This one is actually pretty dope… has me anticipating the album a little more. See it in full after the cut. What do you think? And how important is an album cover to you?

I’ll check ou the album but I’m not hyped about it by any means. I’m admittedly not that big on Wale though.
That cover is pretty cool. Album covers don’t mean terribly much to me, unless they’re REALLY bad.

GREAT album cover.
I love a great album cover… tells me a great story about the album to come. It’s an added touch, you know? It’s not vital, but it adds a lot that a good album cover doesn’t add.

theyre really important to me…i think they speak alot about the effort the artist has put into the album (deep album cover = deep album)
i must say to an extent…the album covers of college dropout and connected were what helped me get into Ye & FE!
I’m really not an artisy person…so album cover doesn’t mean too much. I want Wale to win. Being from Maryland…I want a local artist to win. Even tho I don’t “technically” live in the Metro Area (DC, PG/Mo. County/No. VA) I still rep for the local people.

The FE/Nicolay covers always intrigue me.

And album artwork is very important to me.. but maybe because I’m an old man.. who still remembers how hyped I’d get every tuesday to go buy whatever new album came out…
I was trying to explain this to my 10 year old nephew and he was looking at me like I was nuts.
Sean yeah i watched the interviews a while ago (good work by the way) but yeah i liked how you asked him about their covers. Its always something i felt Nic took a lot of time to think about and conceive but was never addressed in other interviews.
Covers like Here & LIAB leave so much to the listener to interpret themselves. its brilliant!
i love album artwork. everything adds up to make a great album. OF COURSE the music, but breakin it down everything has to come together: lyrics, flow, beats and overall production, are there guest appearances, track order, AND album artwork. like i got pumped about OB4CL 2 just from seeing the album cover and how they went for the classic rae and ghost pose again. i’m also LOVIN the new jay-z rapshody commercial with all the album covers thats just genius. im definitely lookin forward to hearin OB4CL, BP3 and attention deficit among a few others comin soon…
i agree wit deez and everybody….album covers i feel like say alot about what an artist is tryna to convey to his audience…i feel like if u skimp on an album cover i ask what else are you skimpin on?
I don’t know WHO thought of that concept but the cover is DOPE….
i love a great album cover. it adds to the overall product. & its nice too look at. im the type of person tht lyks the physical copies as well as the artwork in my WMP.
