To continue today’s history lesson we bring you Paul C. McKasty aka Paul C the man behind the classic “Critical Beatdown” & “Give the Drummer Some” by the Ultramagnetic MCs (Kool Keith’s group before he went solo). He also produced the demo for a group called Simply Too Postive which later became Organized Confusion. Pete Rock, Domingo and Cut Chemist site Paul C as an influence and he served as mentor for Large Professor in the use of the E-mu SP-1200. Paul C was tragically shot to death in 1989 at the age of 24. His legacy lives in these mixes dedicated by DJ Kid Grebo feat. Prince Po of Organized Confusion.

R.I.P to Paul C. Before i did my research a while back i used to wonder why Rakim and Extra P gave him so much respect. I read this detailed article that broke down how he pioneerd mad production techniques. Plus Critical Beatdown is a crazy production blueprint and heads said that he was heavily involved in that with ced gee.
