Seems like these days, all you really need to get a buzz is a nice co-sign. Backed by Jay-Z, J. Cole is the next hottest thing to come out of Roc Nation. Currently on the road with Jay and busy working on his debut album, J. Cole drops this new track, “Lights Please.” Hit the jump for the clean version, courtesy of the label, as well as his tour dates…

Not trying to sound too harsh, but this song has been out since the beginning of summer.

Good song though!

The song first appeared if I’m correct on his mixtape. Then a CDQ version of it dropped about two months ago. I’m assuming this is the official, official song released by the label.

Plus, its new to this site.

Yeah, you’d be surprised how far behind the labels and promoters can actually be. They just pushed this out today… lol. And since I don’t really follow J. Cole, I had no idea it was old. Oh well!

yeah MaG, I was just thinking about our convo when I posted this… lol.

not feelin this one. J.Cole is good, but every now and then he’ll make some real good ish. Most of his trax are ok at best to me though. I think the kid’s got mad potential though.

J cole is awesome. This is a surprise to be a “single” though, when I first heard that I thought that people wouldn’t get it. It’s pretty great, speaking of the power to females over a man’s ambition… most people hearing this for the first time will think that its just another song about a dude talking “negatively” about a girl
