Oakland emcee, Clif Soulo, pays homage to Chi-town by going in over instrumentals from Common’s Finding Forever and Be.
“I created this album called Forever Be Hip Hop. It’s my own take on instrumentals from Commons’ album’s Finding Forever and Be. I tried and hopefully was successful in creating a new album introducing myself to the world as “Clif Soulo”, but also paying homage and showing respect to Common. If you get some time, download it, listen, let me know what you think.”

i was mad skeptical about this at first, but i’m a few tracks in now and the shit is dope!
I’d never think that a Westcoast spitter could be influenced this much by a Midwest M — and still come correct on his own shit!
Go Soulo!
Thank you very much for this post. It’s really and truly appreciated. It really means alot.
And if anyone is interested in checking this out, but you don’t really wanna download it (I understand, I’m a new artist, don’t wanna waste time and it be absolutely garbage), you can click my name that should take you my bandcamp website where you can stream the music and preview it there.
Feel free to hit me up…peace
Clif
