When you hear the name JFK the first thing you think about is the assassinated president or the airport in New York. Today we are gonna introduce you to JFK aka Jay Fre$h Kick$. The kid has went from local producer to the dude supplying hot tracks for some of today’s hot artists, such as EPMD, Eve and Julez Santana. With artists like this under his belt he is definitely an artist to look out for. He’s a humble cat that will never tell you “I told you so” but he’ll show you so… JFK aka Jay Fre$h Kick$ is in the building!!!

Where u reppin’?

Woodbridge, VIRGINIA

Introduce Yourself:

JFK aka Jay Fre$h Kick$ (Producer/Artist/CEO)

Current projects we should be looking out for:

Go download that “JUST FOR KICK$” kixtape for free at www.freenightzandweekendz.com and check that out. Thats my project I have out right now with ten cuts that I produced. I also put a few freestyles in there too. Just a couple joints I had recorded over a few months so I packaged it as a “kixtape” to bring something different to the table. Also tune in to the radio stations for my new single “GO” produced by myself as well. Holla

Previous work we should know about:

I did a couple seasons of doing music for TV shows in LA. Mainly “Eve” and “Project Runway”. I did a couple records for Yung Berg that featured Trey Songz, Twista and others.

Musical Inspirations:

Quincy Jones, Timbo, The Neptunes, Primo, Kanye, Teddy Riley, Mike Bivens, and a lot more

When was the 1st time you fell in love with hip-hop?

Probably when Kriss Kross came out. I cant lie. My mother wasnt having that cussin shit in her house so I couldnt really get to anything else but she let me get the Kriss Kross tape for my birthday or something. It was the first time I could relate to the lyrics since I was like 6 or 7 years old at the time. But yeah “Totally Crossed Out” was hard.

If you had to pick one song that defines your career to date, what song would that be?

I actually thought about it for ten minutes and decided that it wouldn’t be fair to pick one song but there are a a couple defining moments in my career that were big for me. I’ll just say the first record I ever placed was a track called “Maria” for Morgan Smith back in 2003. That joint put me on.

Why should the readers and fans give you a shot and listen to your music?

Because everyone else is doing it…. nah really because I didn’t really follow any format or try to do anything cliche’. I just gave some cool records to the people out there that wanted to hear how I was gonna come off on my on tracks. Over dope beats. I have a REAL story. I didnt kill anyone or move any weight on there. I just turned my life right now into a tape.

If you could take one record on a deserted island with you, what album would that be?

That’s another tough one. It would come down to maybe “Thriller”, “Reasonable Doubt” or “Encore” by Arthur Verocai.

Any shout outs or last words?

No last words. Shout out to the Holla Family, Hollafame Music, Virginia, The whole DMV area, NYC, Billy J, J Preme, Hunit Grand, the rest of the fam I got you.
