Focus: Homage to Dr. Dre (feat Crooked I, Jay Rock, Marsha Ambrosius, KIDA)

Focus is set to drop his Pay Homage album next year and we’ve heard his take on Dilla, Pete Rock, and DJ Premier. Now we get to hear his “Homage to Dr. Dre.” Featuring Crooked I, Jay Rock, Marsha Ambrosius, and new comer KIDA, I was told this track was originally supposed to have Xzibit on it as well. Guess that didn’t work out. I wonder who Focus will pay homage to next? Rumor is… RZA or Ali Shaheed Mohammed (ATCQ).

Kinda awkward to have Crooked on the track. Song is dope though, another sick “homage” joint. I can’t wait for that 2010 Pay Homage album.

IMO (so far) Pete Rock > Premier > Dilla > Dre
(in terms of the homage songs, not as a producer)

I heart the Premier joint. This isn’t that bad. I would put the Dilla joint last. Can’t wait to hear the RZA joint. Hopefully, its something along the lines of Only Built/Ironman/Liquid…that sound.

Premo, Pete n Dilla..and maybe…Dre i dont really know how to feel about it…the beat is dope and crooked I is tight..but Jay-Rock is Arkward….and Kida out shined Jay-rock all n all it was kinda flat…they needed betta representation of the west…Hell Young maylay would have been a good add after Crooked I….
