“Life Changes” from Wu-Tang Clan‘s heavily slept on 8 Diagrams [sample set] album was a beautiful tribute to Russell Jones.  All of the clan except Ghostface contribute a dope verse to AsonDeck‘s verse  has always been the stand out for me because of the pain, hurt, and shame he felt because of Dirty‘s death and what he didn’t do to help ODB when he needed it.  I hope Lil’ Wayne‘s people are taking note.

Lyrics from OHHLA.  Picture from here.

Wu-Tang Clan: “Life Changes” (Deck’s verse)
From the album: 8 Diagrams (2007)
Produced by RZA

“I popped a bottle on your born day, God
Tried hard not to cry, I still can’t hide the scar
And I still ask, why to God, analyzing your form
As I stood there beside your mom
And I share the blame, cuz you was calling for help, kid
Should’ve, would’ve, could’ve, had the time, I was selfish
I carry on your struggle, each day it really hurts me
I really miss you Russell, hope you forgive me Dirty”

I think Deck really sums up in those few bars what every clan member was probably thinking. Great verse.
