Rakim & Felt. I’d cop the ODB but I’m afraid it’s some ripoff and not gonna actually go to his family.

as much as i love Rakim….& as much as it pains me to say this….that Rakim joint really disappointed me. Lyrically Rakim is all in, but the problem was exactly what i thought it would be….THE PRODUCTION. Maybe it was because i spent about 2-3 years drooling over the “Oh My God” LP (Rakim + Dr. Dre). But the production on this album was extremely lacking in my humble opinion.

co sign beatsbeast. Rakim has not delivered since the last Eric B and Rakim album. Beats are always dreadful and albums are boring. He’s had a few really good songs like that joint with Preemo but his albums have been meh. Can’t get excited for that. Love Felt but not sure about Aesop handling all the production. have to listen first. Didn’t know Edan dropped a new one. Edan is dope. have to listen to that one too.

@ Mike. Here is some kind of promo video with about 4 minutes of Echo Party playing so you can get a taste. Good video too, btw. http://pitchfork.com/tv/#/musicvideo/3905-edan-echo-party-stones-throw

As for the Felt album, I had my doubts as all three of those guys are hit and miss. I really have to say that Aesop surprised me. His production on this is unbelievable…I am officially a fan of his production now. He really brought the best out of Slug and Murs, too. They all killed it on this one. Nice surprise.

It’s been a fact that aes hase nice production, but he doesnt ave much range. The Felt record keeps the same tone, which would be fine, but it runs 21 tracks long. I never thought I’d say this, but TOO MUCH. It’d have been better if they added a track here and there that breaks the tone.
