Just Released Today [11/24]

Ok, what the hell is coming out in stores today?!? I’m a tad frustrated, because this post took me a lot longer than usual to put together. I originally had heard of a bunch of new releases that were dropping today [check our calendar]; however, I am unable to confirm hardly any of them. Amazon is usually a good source, so if it ain’t there I usually don’t put it up here. HipHopDX used to have their release schedule on point, but since their redesign someone has sort of forgotten to update it. I know it’s tough, because releases dates change almost as much as I change my underwear.

My thing is, how hard is it for the labels themselves to get the word out on their releases? I actually had a rep from Warner Bros hit me up the other day to tell me I didn’t have the new Gucci Mane album listed in my release date list. Props to them! Do record companies even care anymore about their own release dates?

Anyway, let me jump off my soapbox. I’d love to hear where you all go for album release dates. And if anyone knows any other albums that are dropping today, sound off in the comments!

What are you coppin this week?

I would like to go to the store to get OC & AG, but I know it’s not at Best Buy. Rihanna came out yesterday.

Did Rihanna come out today? I didn’t see it listed on Amazon. I also heard Angie Stone may have come out today. So hard to confirm releases.

@Thomas,

One thing I do find funny tho is I was on another blog and people were commenting on how they wanted the WALE album but it wasn’t it any stores because it was undershipped. Right after I read that I checked amazon and they had like 20 copies new & used available. So it was available but just not in the stores. Also now with the “internet age” it’s so easy to get albums for free why would anyone pay for them (except for the right reasons of course).

17 Thomas November 25, 2009 at 10:06 pm

@Mike

I hear ya….just about any album can be found online. I hate paying for shipping. I expect not to see some releases in stores, but Wale is on a major label. I’m thinking the physical CD would be plentiful on shelves, but I was wrong. I d/l just like the next person, however, when I like something (and my $ is right I usually support). I just like the physical product.
