Well, well, well !!! Congrats to Isbjerg !!!!! but i’m kinda surprised and i must admit a little bit disapointed…. Well to be honest i definitely don’t agree, i’m not sayin I should have won ( of course I was confident ) but and don’t take it personnal Isbjerg cause I know u can make dope beats, and u never hear me contest a winner but I don’t agree with that result …. Once again don’t take it personnal but i wanted to share my opinion….
    PEACE

this is straight LOL. did ya’ll even listen to 49ers beat?! 44th was good too, but wtf.

  • 44th Parallel

    congrats isbjreg

  • ted

lol good joke where are the real results? you can’t be serious!!!

I’m sorry a lot of you feel this way about the results. I’m honestly surprised by the reaction. It goes without saying that everyone has a different ear and taste when it comes to music.. and that’s why we have 4 judges on the panel. Each of us have a different ear and thus, different picks. When the same remixes land in our top 5s, it is no mistake… those remixes deserve to win. For those of you that are still unsure about how the winner is chosen, it’s all math after the judges each pick their top 5. 1st place gets 5 points, 2nd place gets 4 points, 3rd gets 3, 4th gets 2 and 5th gets 1. Those points are tallied up to reveal the winner of the week. Aside from our ear not being the same as others, there is no other explanation. With that said, I hope that those of you who feel “robbed” will continue to submit your beats for the duration of the contest. You never know what we’ll be feeling each week!

Im just a little disapointed too, no disrespect, but like @buckoner said, im confident too, I think that every producer try to make the best 4 each remix, choosin and puttin the samples & instrumentation too, everybody try to make a different things, but If you listen close, the winner remix is just a hihat, a kick and a snare with 2 variations of the original sample and almost the original intro of brothers gonna work out.
there are a lot of beats that have more flavor and more sounds with different things that deserve to win, maybe thats the reason “why” we are no agree whit the result of this week and maybe thats the same situation of the winner of week 6 where are 2 people sayin congrats to the winner.
everybody wants to win thats the reason we are here and we feel disapointed when doesn’t happen like that, but I think that all we have the hability to recognize when a good beat win like “Ion beats” and this is not the case.
And like @buckone said don’t take it personal @isbjerg and @everybody but thats my opinion.
well congrats @isb and sorry 4 the long speach.
    peace yall’

Congrayts berg! Competition was fierce as usual. Same way have to agree with alot of the crowd here, i mean flat out I think my Week 7 Beat smashed my Week 5 beat that a Won.

  • http://kevinnottingham.com Kevin

I definitely hear you BQ… and I can respect that. Just understand that sometimes simple works. I hear a lot of the remixes that come through where they chop the hell out of the sample, but in the end it just doesn’t make for an overall cohesive beat. A lot of times, it’s the simple beat with the dash of individual flavor here and there that will come out on top. But it all depends.

Nice work Isbjerg! Been diggin your style since Danish Donuts and I’m still bumpin The Pattern. While I know all of us want to win every single week we enter, we’re all in it for the same thing, to put together a dope remix album, and the more variety of styles we get, the more interesting its gonna be in the end I feel, so I hope no one takes this democratic voting personal. On another note: Damn its been eight weeks already!

  • http://rap1masse.blogspot.com Isbjerg

Well well… Im very happy to take the prize this week and feel my things getting stronger every week, mainly because of the competition.. Im a little surprized by the doubt in me winning but I stand by my beat and know that a MC would get the kick out of writing to it…
But this means that my main goel is to win another one of these ruffneck head to head weeks by chopping more up and being more strange and out there than usual – Nah just kidding..
But I will try to take the crown once more during the competition..

    One

    And good luck
    Isbjerg

Dont worry @kevin and @berg it’s ok, maybe just.. was… the moment,
and you rigth sometimes the simple works, we still have a lot of weeks to try rigth?, ok then, congrats¡¡
    and good look yall’
keep with the good work cause that will be reflected in the quality of the album.
    peace

  • DJ Grain

Man Kev spoke for all the judges it is extremely hard to pick a winner every week. There are so many good beats it is difficult to select the winning beat. Shouts to all the producers that put in work every week to make a beat for the contest. Before joining the staff at KN I never knew there were so many dope producers in the world. Real talk. Keep up the good work folks.

  • http://www.nomoneyrecords.com nicky Taurus

big up 2 the judges, glad 2 get the recognition i did. im just havin fun with the music, @isbjerg, can see ya real passionate about what u do, look forward 2 ya analysis every week! and 44th is very consistant with his beats. im gettin closer though lol!! did my week 8 beat, built a beat round the chop sample but sounded sicker when i took the sample away so i kept it! ended up missin the deadline, dont get much time these days. its been a hard contest cos the samples are quite busy and done to death! so 4 me its just a weekly exersize and if i dont win ill still be left with a bagga beats.

  • Tactical Factor

congrats Isbjerg, you stuck in there & got a win nice work.

  • Flavor

I agree with the judges it must be difficult to pick a winner each week, but i agree with Buck Oner and BQ for example when they said they are a little surprised cause :
of course Kevin said it, sometimes u are on top with simple things and when you chop the hell out of a sample it doesn’t make a cohesive beat but in this week 7 there were beat like BQ, Dutch49 or Buck Oner ( that was my fav : here u had a cool intro, different verses and a sick chorus and the all thing was cohesive) so i can understand people’s reaction when u picked a hat, snare and kick and 2 variations of the sample….

    Peace to everybody in here

  • http://rap1masse.blogspot.com Isbjerg

a hat, snare and kick and 2 variations of the sample ? That makes me feel important…. There’s not many great beats made with that combo… not at all..

Im just kidding… thanx for the selection and good luck to alll

THIS right here is what tells me that this is definitely the right place to be. A site where members want to win, yet still respectful of everyone else. I discovered this site just a couple of months ago and have enjoyed checking it almost every day, especially with these awesome production contests Kev keeps hitting us with (even though I don’t submit every week b/c I’m still new to this and figuring things out – and loving it). So thank you Kevin and staff for keeping it 100, and big ups to everyone competing because this is how a hip hop site should be.
