User Poll: What’s Your Favorite File Sharing Service?

The contributors here at KN.com have recently been discussing what file sharing sites to exclusively use on the site. The past few months we’ve been using UserShare to upload single mp3 files and for the past few years we’ve always used RapidShare for our mixtapes and compilations. For links that we find around the Net, as well as links that artists send directly, we just use the link that’s already available. Recently I’ve been seeing a lot more comments about people having problems with certain links on the site and though this poll won’t fix everyone’s problem, at least we’ll get a good idea as to the file sharing sites you prefer.

Two services that I am seeing as the most efficient lately are UserShare and MediaFire. Currently, I am proposing that all future links on KN.com will be used on either one of these two services. UserShare will most likely be used for single mp3 files, whereas MediaFire will be used for mixtapes, compilations, or anything in a zip file. From here on out we will use those sites regardless of other links that are sent to us (meaning we will download and reupload here). But before we make the final decision, I want to hear what you like… we may change our mind based on the poll results!

What's your favorite file sharing service?

* Bandcamp, of course, is superior to all the above and if sent a Bandcamp link we will definitely use that.

just a note. i dont know if its a problem anymore but in the past i have had problems with zip files on mediafire. after download, sometimes a file or two would come out corrupt. since i was also the uploader i can say for sure that no files were corrupt before upload. it only happened a few times and not for quite some time but just wanted to share.

i voted mediafire by the way.

Usershare and Mediafire are the fastest, most efficient, and least problematic file sharers from my perspective as an uploader and downloader.

I like Usershare and Mediafire, especially for single songs. I tend to like Megaupload a lot for albums. I absolutely hate Rapidshare.

HATE RapidShare – love Megaupload for albums & mixtapes; Mediafire will work also.

Me personally…..Rapidshare has ALL of my mixes. Megaupload has a lot of them. mediashare is where its at though..i like the interface, quick uploads, and download friendliness…..hate the price but without struggle there is no progress!! Hence, i’m in the process of moving the catalog to mediashare too. I also like mirrorcreator for its multiple uploads.

Mediafire > all others. No wait times, and minimum pop-up ads. ZShare / Sharebee should be dead last. Also; fuck Rapidshare and their download limits on daily visits … No, I will not “upgrade” for your service.

Megaupload is the best to me. Bandcamp is becomming a standard with alot of artists right now. So i would say those two.

surprised that usershare isn’t number one

usershare for singles, mediafire and (as a distant second) sharebee for albums. adrive.com and multiupload.com are good too

I was going to vote for Bandcamp until I got to the bottom of the article.
Mediafire has been friendly in regards to anything over a song.
I like Usershare because I can preview the file before downloading, which is helpful when you’re trying to give a lot of artists and producers and honest listen to their material.

I agree! Use the Usershare and Mediafire.
