    Blu! I was excited to see this, a few tracks have been in my collection previously but still anything from this guy is a welcome addition. The truth in Hip Hop.

    @Thomas, I agree but I think the way Blu, Jay Elec etc put out music is part of what makes it so great. We always want more, it’s the only quality control the artists have these days.

    I’m cool with the quality control and don’t expect them guys to put mixtapes out every week, however, the regurgitation of the same music packaged as new is meh.

    I love Jay Elec…..he’s had 2 new songs, a couple of snippets, and 2-3 guest verses in the last 3 years.

    I’m conditioned by some of my favorite artist (Jay, Nas, Wu-Tang solo artist, Scarface, etc) to put something out at least every two years. These new guys…it seems like being mysterious is part of the package I guess.

    I’m probably just greedy!

    Yea cats who put out an album every other month make my stomach hurt… I think building the anticipation by spacing it out is just fine…

    Some new guys go crazy and saturate themselves too early… but either way Blu is still dope!

    Blu is as fresh as it gets but it is about time for another full album. He DOES put in mad work though, stray songs pop up every of month from dude. Oh and MALLY, your album The Passion is dope as hell!!!!!! lol. Off subject I know, but you made a classic homie, keep doing ya thing

    I agree with both sides, an artist like Joell Ortiz can put out new music on a daily & I don’t get tired of seeing “New Joell Ortiz …” but others that don’t – I feel like we as fans are so spoiled by the “digital era” (for the record I HATE that term but wth) of constant new music dropping all the time, and most of it’s free mixtapes / EPs / etc.

    That, IMO is what’s so great about HiPNOTT … we haven’t seen delays, the artists are dope & the creative output is not tainted by “We need a radio friendly sound…” & it’s constant revolving release dates one after another.

    I really honestly thought we’d see a project from Blu within a year of signing to Warner but apparently he’s already off the label from what I’d read? The GodLeeBarnes EP on NYDay was supposed to be new but the quality was so bad it was hard to listen to on anything but a computer.

    soul amazing 1-3, ‘drop the E’ and Untaped were made by fans of blu

    so if youre mad about recycling music, its not his fault..
    blame the fans who make compilations (like myself)

    the only difference with untaped is that i spoke to blu first
    he puts out a lot of new music as well, you just have to find it
