Simultaneously informative and 'effed up! Being in IT this just sounds like an excuse to limit our creativity because its really only hip-hop and derivatives of it that utilize the remix. There has to be a way to electronically tag a record and attached that same key to another record to ensure they stay connected. The point is, Keith Urban & MIley Cyrus aren't being remixed so they get their consecutive spins and this doesn't impact their bottom line or their bargaining position.

I remember in the late '80s and early '90s when conventional wisdom [that means without the facts] maintained that rock&roll was the dominant music genre. Lo & Behold Sound Scan comes our with empirical data [hard evidence] that Hip-hop/Rap and Country music are the most profitable and dominant genres.

Where there's a will there's a way!
