About Kevin

Kevin Nottingham is just an average guy with a strong passion for hip hop. Based out of Miami, Kevin puts all of his effort and free time into making this site the best possible hip hop site on the web.

Kevin is an 80’s child, growing up on artists such as Run DMC, Whodini, and UTFO. Listening to all forms of hip hop from the past 30 years, his favorite period would have to be the early to mid 90s, a time when A Tribe Called Quest, Gangstarr, and Pete Rock & CL Smooth were on the scene. Today’s hip hop leaves Kevin with mixed emotions and there are a lot of acts out there who are in the game just for the money and don’t have same the passion as our hip hop pioneers. At the same time, there are just as many innovative and creative artists coming up in hip hop that must be recognized.

People relate to hip hop for different reasons. For a lot of people it’s the lyrics. For Kevin it’s the music behind the lyrics. Grant it you can’t have a good record without an emcee’s lyrical skill; he’s gotta have flow. However, Kevin’s moved more by the beat and the production behind the songs. Sampling is an art; when done right it can make the song and when done wrong it can kill the entire groove.

There are a lot of music blogs out there that post free music to download. This is not one of those sites. This web site fully supports the artist and the purchasing of their music.
