aRaSia calls herself a music connoisseur and maniac journalist whose two greatest loves are Hip Hop and writing. Born and raised in Chicago, she wrote her first mini book when she was six years old. Despite being told as an African-American woman she would never make it as a Hip Hop writer, she knew she had the drive, knowledge and passion to leave her mark on the Hip Hop journalism world. “Saying Hip Hop is dead is like telling me, I do not have breath in my lungs yet I am still standing!”

She is currently pursuing her degree at the College of Southern Nevada and serves as the Editor-In-Chief of DefCulture.org and SwankSocietyRadio.com. She is also a Staff Writer for Nu Soul Magazine and freelances for the Chicago Defender, AllHipHop.com and various other media outlets. “I am always questioned about my knowledge of Hip Hop because I am a woman but I can go toe to toe with the best of them so bring it on!”
