Over here in the States during the mid 90’s the hip hop culture was in it’s Golden Era, and you did not have to look far to hear a dope emcee really spittin’. I had absolutely no idea that European rap was experiencing a similar movement that had folks tearing up microphones left and right. So with today being Throwback Thursday, I am going to take time out to pay respect to all the emcees worldwide that can really spit but have not been heard by the masses. Shouts to my homie Mishoo the Drumkit (Mishoo’s Blog) reppin Germany and Rwanda that turned me to these guys.
This is straight from the homie super producer K-Murdock:
Last year I was fortunate enough to be involved (via the homie Random) in a pretty dope remix project featuring Jay-Z’s “American Gangster” album. The concept was simple; Flip Jigga’s acapellas to new, video game-sampled beats! The project contains 10 tracks which sample everything from “Resident Evil” to “Final Fantasy” to “Castlevania”, and you can download it for free HERE! Also, for nerd-dom sake, listen to my personal favorite of the 3 remixes i did below, and see if you can figure out what classic game i used for it…
I would like to thank all the veterans for their bravery and service to our nation. These brave men and women on a daily basis put themselves in harms way in order to defend our freedom. I wish I could shake each and every one of these soliders hands especially the heroes that did not make it back home.
Cincinnati-bred, Atlanta-based rapper Jermiside (of the Red Giants & the Lessondary) links up with Denver’s DJ Low Key (tour DJ for Tanya Morgan) for his latest project, Die Jerm Die. In Jermiside’s words, the mixtape reflects a personal moment in time and the majority was recorded as, “an exit or some kind of closure musically.” Since then, Jerm’s life and music career have been on the rise and he’s no longer looking to stop making music. The tone of Die Jerm Die captures a snapshot of those emotions and thoughts and seems even more appropriate in today’s turbulent times. The combination of Jermiside’s rapid-fire flow and introspective lyrics, an impressive variety of production and DJ Low Key’s slick mixing make Die Jerm Die a must listen mixtape. Download the mixtape after the jump.
Leak #2 from the Jermiside x DJ Low Key “Die Jerm Die” mixtape which will be available for download on Thursday October 22nd.
For those who are unfamiliar, Jermiside was featured on Tanya Morgan’s critically acclaimed “Brooklynati” album earlier this year and will also appear on CunninLynguists upcoming ” “Strange Journey Vol.2″. DJ Low Key has produced some highly acclaimed mixtapes for the likes of TiRon (Ketchup) & Median (Relief In The Making Hosted by 9th Wonder) and is also the tour DJ for Tanya Morgan.
I am proud to present the 1st leak from Lessondary Crew member Jermiside’s “Die Jerm Die” mixtape, mixed by DJ Low Key and set to be released on October 20th. This song was originally recorded a couple years back for a project that never saw the light of day but is finally seeing a proper release here.
Just got this new video from the homies over at Brooklynati Public Access Television. This is the second video off Tanya Morgan’s latest album Brooklynati. Make sure you plan ahead, and book your next vacation to the beautiful city of Brooklynati before it is too late.
The Game goes hard on Jay-Z with the aid of Jay-Z’s mentor Jaz-O. Is this the prelude to a battle between The Game x Jaz-O and Jay-Z? We will have to watch and see how this madness plays out.

I am proud to present one of my homies that goes by the name of Freestyle aka FRZY! from the undiscovered country that I like to call Pittsburgh. The homie Freestyle is well on his way to becoming the “The Boss” King of Pittsburgh. Check out his Look Into My Eyes mixtape after the jump. [read full article…]

As I was searching the net a few days ago I happened to stumble across Mishoo The Drumkit. This MC, producer, songwriter has a very interesting story that puts him in a league of his own. Born in Kigali, Rwanda to a Rwandian mother and German father he lived in Rwanda until he was 11 when a brutal civil war broke out in Rwanda. His family then moved to Germany where he was introduced to hip hop, jazz, soul, and other forms of music. I recommend this for those of you all that are looking for change of pace and are tired of the same old music you hear on the radio. Check for the download after the jump.
