Looks like Hov is looking at releasing “Forever Young” as the next single off Blueprint 3. Terrible choice, IMHO. Every time I hear this song, I think of Napoleon Dynamite (which is a great movie, but not a good look for Jay). Here’s Jay-Z on stage with Mr. Hudson, live in London. I know, I know… I heard the news latest night and couldn’t believe it. This album really is one of my most anticipated this year. I actually woke up yesterday thinking, “The Natural should be out tomorrow… yeah!” Unfortunately, due to some… ummm….. delays, we’re gonna have to wait a bit longer. Not sure how long yet. But from what I’ve heard from this album (yes I’ve heard more than you… lol) and the features behind it, it will definitely be worth the wait!

Sha Stimuli is interviewed by Boss Lady from DJ Jay’s, where he talks about his album among other things. Sha’s dope album My Soul To Keep [buy] dropped last week and contains lyrics for days.
I peeped the following videos last night and am late getting them up. Sha is interviewed at the Chamber Musik office and talks about his beginning in Hip Hop, interning at Roc-A-Fella records, his deal with Virgin, Jay-Z/Def Jam, the current state of Hip-Hop, and a “freestyle” in the last video.

I started following Arcee and Kaewonder’s Cratery Series on The Real Frequency blog back in February when they dropped Volume 1. Somehow, they’ve gotten all the way up to Volume 9 and I’ve fallen waaaaay behind!
If you’re not familiar with the Cratery, you’re definitely missing out. Just imagine walking into your local mom and pop recka sto’ and finding more gems than you can possibly carry out. That’s the Cratery… real diggin’ done right.

Came across this video of Mos Def reciting Black Thought’s verse from “75 Bars,” which appeared on The Roots album, Rising Down [read review]. This apparently took place during the taping of the BET ciphers.

Check the new album trailer for Max Minelli’s highly anticipated album Pain Medicine. The Baton Rouge emcee dropped his prelude Pre-Med last week and is now set to drop his long awaited LP on November 23rd. This has personally been one of my most anticipated albums of the year along with OB4CL2 and Splitting Image, can’t wait to hear the finished product. Stop sleeping on Max!

DJ Booth: Does [rapping and producing] turn you into the ultimate perfectionist?
J. Cole: Yes, it does, it definitely does. But, like I said, I’ve gotten to the point where I’m trying to get out of that. Like, for instance, I got in the studio with No I.D., that’s who I’ve been in the studio with. I’m breakin’ out of that mold of just hoverin’ over my sh*t and just huggin’ it so hard and sayin, “No! Nobody else!” Cause his sound is the perfect sound. Like, I’ve finally found someone I can learn from, and [his] sound matches my sound. So it’s a perfect setup, and the joints we’ve been doing have been absolutely incredible.
