As flattering as it may be, does Nicki Minaj want to be best looking female emcee in hip hop, or does she want to be the best emcee in hip hop? It’s hard to tell right now. With dozens of pictures circulating the internet showing off her camel toe and booty, it is hard to say what her purpose as an artist in hip hop is. Sadly, she’s evidently not that great of a rapper. Surely, that’s no secret.

After the extremely well written review done by eA, I noticed some comments attacking the website for choosing to cover a particular album. The album was the Black Eyed Peas most recent release, The E.N.D. [read here]. I couldn’t be more shocked and appalled by the fact that a handful of commenters (and other silent readers) were gasping at the fact that KevinNottingham.com, the home of real hip hop, original samples, and quality content, was reviewing a Black Eyed Peas album (ewwwwwww!). I know, right? Isn’t that crazy? What kind of website covers music of all types? That’s pretty disgusting isn’t it? It’s remarkably horrible that we cover even the worst of un-established artists (not naming names) and yet, we turn to cover a highly established and developed hip-pop music sensation, also a group that once put out quality hip hop for a long time. I mean, what kind of website wants to channel and analyze the shift a particular group has made and possibly monitor it and write it out for everyone to see? It’s horrible. The nerve of us for picking this album to review and the nerve of eA to actually give it a 71!?!?
This score entails that it is better than this years Busta Rhymes album (Back on my…), Big Pooh’s Delightful Bars, and B Real’s Smoke n’ Mirrors. What?! Black Eyed Peas having higher scores (and conclusively being better) than other hip hop albums? What a joke KevinNottingham.com is.

So check it. For my birthday a while back I received a huge gift card from my friends and family. Let’s say in total, I have about $350 worth of a gift card to spend at one store (Future Shop, what up Scott!). Anyways, I’ve been thinking HARD about this decision for the last two months now and really, I’ve made no progress. All of the opinions I’ve asked, everything comes back to square one and literally is split evenly down the middle. So, I’m reaching out to the Nottingham family to help me out. In reference to the title, most people probably would not. So many people have complained about the direction Nasir has gone in these recent years that many just wish he went back to his Illmatic days. Many people were saying the same thing about Marshall. When Encore rolled around and even parts of The Eminem Show, many hip hop lovers were wondering when Eminem was going to be the real Slim Shady again. Enter Relapse… isn’t that what the F*ck he’s doing? Isn’t this the original Slim Shady, the one we all know and love for his grotesque, absurd, vivid storytelling about incest, rape, murder, and sex? The one with all the skill, the most satisfying and most deadly mechanics that an emcee could have? I mean, if this isn’t Eminem in his purest form, then I don’t know what is. But then why…why all the complaining and negative feedback on this album?

What’s up fam? I got to say thank you first of all, to Kevin Nottingham for allowing me to kick this shit. Since joining the crew, I’ve been providing a few producer compilations for your listening pleasure, as well as bashing your favorite rapper during my reviews. Here, is more or less a ranting section for you, me, and anyone else who wants to sound off on a variety of topics. We all have those days when we just notice some things that urk us, I decided to take Kev up on that and I wanted to sound off. With that said, I will keep things relevant to hip hop, no doubt.
