Today we bring you the 4th instalment of Small Professor’s (a/k/a Small Pro) increasingly popular ‘Jawns’ instrumental series, “Leftover Jawns”. A polished, engaging release in itself, “Leftover Jawns” is something of a teaser as we await the January 24th release of his highly anticipated “Gigantic Vol. 1″ album, which features vocal contributions from Guilty Simpson, Buff1, Has-Lo, Blueprint and many more of underground hip-hop’s finest.

Another stripe earned for the young man that has won 5 different remix contests (for the likes of Skyzoo, !llmind + more), along with having released a plethora of critically acclaimed remix albums, this exclusive EP includes seven tracks and one bonus cut. Comprised of beats that didn’t make their way onto any of the previous three volumes, plus a few brand-new heaters, the majority of songs on “Leftover Jawns” emphasize soul samples and feature vocal snippets from TV shows and rap skits.

One of the best producers in the game right now, 14KT, drops his latest instrumental project A Friendly Game Of KT. Here’s what the Athletic Mic League member had to say about this release:

This project just created itself. One day, I woke up and decided I wanted to make a project. I took a handful of arbitrary beats and put them in a folder. My most FAVORITE thing to do as an artist is sequence and mix together music for albums. It’s kind of like a game of Pick Up Sticks. I had a can of “beats” with different colors, poured them over a table top, picked them up randomly, and whatever “sticks” I ended picking up, I took and made a project with them. I didn’t have a title for it, so I sent the beats to my A-Side family, in a email with the subject, “It’s time to play a friendly game of name KT’s album!” Being the geniuses that they are (Shouts to Mayer Hawthorne!), they named the project off the email subject. Perfect. About 2 weeks after I got the title, the project was turned in. Simple! Enjoy.

On December 24 a who’s who of DMV producers will release an instrumental beat tape inspired by the Ironman, Ghostface Killah. The project is entitled The Ghostface Beat Tape and include production from Kev Brown, Kaimbr, DJ Roddy Rod, Surock, Maverick, Solograph, Praise, Nick the 1da, Judah, E-Minah, Soulful!, and others.
