The homie DRUMATIC recently sent me a couple of tees from his KicDrum Products clothing line, so I figured it was only right I put up a post advertising their merch. Real talk though, the tees are great quality and fit nice. I rocked the Pete Rock one (shown above) this past weekend and it’s already made its way into my fav tee rotation. Resonable Kicks: It’s Jammin’ in Space, Again

I’m not sure how many of our readers are sneakerheads, but today marks the official release day of the re-retro version of the Jordan XI.

For those of you who are not familiar with these sneakers, the Jordan XI came out in ’95 and has been designed by Tinker Hatfield. The legacy of the XII was born when Jordan wore a black/white/royal blue colorway of them in the movie Space Jam in ‘96 which made these kicks the most sought-after and popular Michael Jordan signatures of all. Now the Jordan Brand decided to milk the cow again by releasing them again.

I was lucky enough to get myself two early pair because of a miscommunication between a German sneaker shop and Nike. They are coming with two plastic shoetrees and a special box which’s inlay says: “Tinker made them shine, Mike made them jump, you made them iconic.”

Yes, I’m sorry Jordan III, V, VI and VIII. I’mma let you finish, but the Space Jams are the greatest Jordans of all time. Why? Well, it’s not the shiny patent leather or the beautiful icy outsole, no it’s simply the fact that the Jordan XI was the first Jordan signature model I ever noticed. I remember it like yesterday when I was in the cinema watching Space Jam for the first time. I truly believed that these kicks made Michael Jordan fly and I wanted to fly too. I guess this moment was the reason behind my sneaker obsession.

Still, there are two sides to a story. It’s not a secret anymore that the Jordan Brand had an drop-off in build quality and material selection. Also, quality wise, these kicks are not comparable to the OG’s. Bits of glue here and dents there. Still I hear people telling me that this is one of the best retros ever, but oh well, don’t ask me, maybe the Jordan Brand is shipping all the B grades to Germany.

If you’re like me, you LOVE to personalize your possessions! Whether it be your computer desktop, your car, your favorite notebook or whatever. What if I told you you can now personalize your iPods, Zunes, cell phones, etc with your favorite music themes? Thanks to Music Skins it is now possible!

For the record, this is not a paid advertisement. I received a few music skins a couple of months ago for my 4th generation iPod and can’t imagine my iPod ever being naked again. Music Skins are made of vinyl and stick like stickers; however, when removed they do not leave any residue. At this time, their site offers a wide variety of themes from hip hop to rock to fashion, art and models. You can even create a custom skin, as I did above with my site’s logo. Skins come for the front and back of your device, but I had a really difficult time applying the front around the screen and wheel of my iPod. There is, however, a video tutorial on easy application here. I guess I don’t follow directions so well.

Forget the minor details though… I really dig these skins. I suggest you go check them out!

K-Swiss: Remastering the Classic

We all know that sneaks and hip hop go hand in hand. So when I saw the new K-Swiss ads rotating on the site, I had to go see what their new ad campaign was all about. I rock a lot of different shoes, but you can’t get any more classic than the K-Swiss classic white sneaks.

This year, K-Swiss is apparently revamping their Classic line by going back to the original look from 1966, but giving us the comfort of today. I’ve been rocking K-Swiss since 1985 and can tell you that I’ll definitely picking up these new sneaks.

I wanna hear from you though… what are you wearing and what was your first pair of sneaks? I know there are a lot of fashioin gurus on the site, so tell me… aside from Run-DMC’s “My Adidas”, how have sneakers played a role in hip hop?

Since we are in Kanye Week I had to come up with a post like this! As we all know Mr. West really loves art, fashion & architecture. Yeah you can find a lot a lot of nice clothes, goodies and all kinds of stuff on his blog. He became a real trendsetter for example with the shutter shades, but from time to time his outfits are, well, let me put it like this: Controversial. I don’t wanna hate on him or anything like that, I love fashion and I really dig a lot of his clothes (especially his “Air Yeezy’s), but for now, I wanna let these images speak for themselves.
