Mixed by DJ Mark-1, Back 2 the Future showcases the Bay Area singer, Dasha [artist spotlight], putting her spin on some of her favorite hip hop songs. Freeway, Jake One, and Don Cannon link up for The Beat Made Me Do It mixtape. The mixtape is a prelude to the full length album between Jake One and Freeway, The Stimulus Package dropping 2/16/10. I haven’t listened to it yet, but their past collaborations have been dope so this shouldn’t be any different.

The mixtape features the Baltimore emcee complimented by the production of Mydus & DCypher along with guest appearances by The Black Sunn & The Black Diamond. “This mixtape is about an unwillingness to give up, when it feels like the whole world is against you. No this is not a contender for Freestyle Friday… I would never put these two emcees in the same league. However DJ TrackStar at TSS did! I’ll let him explain below:
“Since Jay-Z stopped worrying about being the best and declared himself the greatest, many people have claimed the title of Best Rapper Alive, but few as often as Lil Wayne and Royce Da 5′9″.
While Wayne is a global superstar and Royce owns the underground, they seem to share similar taste in beats — “D.O.A.,” “I’m Me” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” as notable examples. I went ahead and put together twelve rounds of Nickel and Weezy facing off over the same beat, threw in a boxing motif, and now I’ll let the people decide.”
