Eminem and Proof Freestyle

by DJ Grain on December 4, 2009 · 4 comments

In honor of Freestyle Friday, I just had to post this crazy youtube video that I found of Eminem and Proof killing the freestyle with ease.  The “freestyle” is starting to go the way of dinosaur.  By saying this I mean that a lot of folks will write a flow down memorize it and kick it like it is fresh off the dome.  Now indeed it can be dope, but it is the not the art of “freestyle” in its truest form.  Sadly, several premier artists have admitted to being guilty of writing their verses before going in the booth and supposedly freestyling.  I have to take time out to salute the folks that still value the art of freestylin’ and also the memory of the late great Proof from the D.

rospit

Detroit emcee Ro Spit dropped his Oh S#!t Project recently and DJ Graffiti wanted to make sure people recognized his talented. Here’s what Graffiti had to say about the mix, ”

I’m blasting out a short mix that I just did featuring songs by one of Detroit’s most up and coming emcees, Ro Spit. A song was leaked a couple days ago that features Ro Spit along with Bun B, Big Sean & Curtains. I did a mix in hopes that people don’t download that one song for the other emcees and overlook Ro’s talent.”

“All the songs in my mix feature Ro Spit solo on the mic over beats from producers from the A-Side camp (Lab Techs: 14KT, Vaughan T & Forekast, and one from Astronote). The songs are all taken from “The Oh S#!t Project” that was released yesterday for free download on www.RoSpit.com. Feel free to post my mini-mix and/or a link to the entire project. The Oh S#!t project isn’t an official A-Side release, but Ro Spit is definitely family!”

Download both the original and the DJ Graffiti mix after the jump.

I would like to thank all the veterans for their bravery and service to our nation. These brave men and women on a daily basis put themselves in harms way in order to defend our freedom. I wish I could shake each and every one of these soliders hands especially the heroes that did not make it back home.

Here’s the video for the single “Lost Ones” from RAtheMC feat. Pro’Verb, it’s off of the Trending Topics mixtape. After the cut check out the pics of RA modeling for the Dangerously Beautiful clothing line, she is definitely adding to her triple threat status (emcee, singer and songwriter).

e-flunt

We get tons of request daily from artist requiting us to post their music, but it’s almost impossible for us to honor every request.  The Inbox was created to showcase unknown artist and their music (great idea Kev!).  The homie Psymun sent over a track he produced for a New York based rapper by the name of E-Fluent.

Hit the cut for the link to the track and come back and give some feedback to Psymun and E-Fluent.

RC-pic

Rasheed sent me these two tracks last week sometime.  “Queen of the Ghetto” and “My Freedom” are a few years old, but they show Sheed’s social consciousness and remarkable story telling ability.  Rasheed is working/finishing up three projects right now (I think):  his debut album and two EP’s.

“My Freedom” is unmastered.  Hit the cut for the link.
