The album’s filled with seventies inspired jazzy soul and funk tunes reminiscent of some of the best acid jazz bands of the nineties. “back in 2004 Raphael Saadiq opened his studio doors to Spacek to produced an album for one of his sub label , the album was suppose to b called “pookie blue room ” and features 10 songs produced by both steve and morgan with raphael singing on all of them and featuring guest appearances by Common , Q tip , Ledisi ,Steve spacek and sir Bentley ( u know it was 2004 when u see sir bentley s name )….anyhow the album was never completed and therefor never released as one of the executive producer of this album i have been sitting on those tracks for years now …sharing my fav with you now” via mathieuschreyer

ATL based indie soul divas Rhonda Thomas and Avery Sunshine released a beautiful and fun video to their collab from Thomas’ second album Listen. “Just Us” is a remake of the Two Tons O’ Fun soul club classic and these ladies handled it with perfection.
