Yahzarah’s debut album, The Ballad of Purple St. James, comes out May 4th on Foreign Exchange Music. If you’re a fan of The Foreign Exchange, Nicolay, or Phonte, you’ll definitely want to look out for this! Here’s the first single, “Why Dontcha Call Me No More” (not to be confused with the Prince ballad or the Alicia Keys remake). Produced by Nicolay and written by Yahzarah and Phonte Coleman.
Arkansas Bo drops another track for DJBooth.net called “Don’t Be Afraid To Feel Me” over a Maxwell instrumental. Bo will be his new solo mixtape The Notebook tomorrow.
Redman let loose this new track on Twitter called “Buck Buck” produced by Illmind. Red’s new album, now titled Reggie, drops soon on Def Jam.
Vandalyzm has been holding on to his J Dilla tribute song “Mirror Mirror” for awhile but has finally decided to release it. The St. Louis emcee wrote this shortly after Dilla’s birthday last year & used the sample as ”Last Donut of the Night” to reflect on his life at the time. Make sure you download Vandalyzm’s latest mixtape Vandalyzm Is Not The Father which dropped in January.
Aime is the latest to rhyme over Drake’s “Over” along with Asaad as they give their own take on the track, “OverDoIt.” Aime’s When It’s Cold Outside EP is available now.

HiPNOTT Records introduces Spectac and Amiri’s album Almost Famous (Release Date: April 13, 2010) by bestowing the single “My God” as a 12” EP upon the music masses. This five-track free download is packaged to include the album version, radio edit, instrumental and acapella of “My God” and a b-side, “Ol To New”.
“My God” represents the spirit of the album as a whole. Spectac brings his laid-back, storytelling, poetic style and Amiri’s beat is soulful and innovative but still reminiscent of the Golden Era of hip-hop. Spectac’s chorus holds the message of this track, “This one goes out to all the crews before us, this one goes out to all our fans, this one goes out to all that doubted out, this one goes out, God knows who I am”.
Methuzulah, formerly known as Mojo Swagger, drops a new leak called “Staff Style Stickfighting” featuring Leader Of The New School’s Dinco D. The track is off the Atlanta emcee’s Kemetic Aha mixtape which has him rhyming over all DJ Premier beats. The tape drops in April and also includes guest appearances by Kam Moye, Jurassic 5’s Akil the MC, Boog Brown & Punchline.
