New Music ReleasesThere are a few highly anticipated albums being released today. Unfortunately I can’t vouch neither am I too excited about any of them, with the exception of the new UGK double-CD. I’m definitely looking forward to hearing that, so hopefully I’ll have a review out by week’s end.

The Real TestamentPlies: The Real Testament

The Real Testament is the debut album from southern rapper Plies. Highly anticipated since his first single, “Shawty” featuring T-Pain, is getting heavy rotation on the airwaves, this CD simply falls short and does not live up to the hype.

I’ve already reviewed this CD. See the review for the tracklisting details of this album.

Next single to be release from The Real Testament is Hypnotized featuring Akon. You should hear it on radio within the next few weeks. Skip this CD and just download “Shawty” and “Hypnotized” instead.

Public EnemyPublic Enemy: How You Sell Soul To A Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul?

Wow, that title’s a mouthful! This is Public Enemy’s 10th studio album and marks their 20th anniversary in the music biz. The songs on the album are tinged with a point of view that answers the need for the recognition of the power of music itself, reaching the ‘soul’ of folks rather than just exhibiting a rehash of a sound reminiscent of a forlorn era.

First single to be released to radio will be “Harder Than You Think”. Although I haven’t heard it yet, should be interesting to see what Public Enemy has up their sleeve. Their recent BET Award Show performance showed they still have the stuff, even though Flava Flav seems to be occupied lately in the celebreality circuit with his hit show Flavor of Love. This CD might be worth checking out.

Tracklist:

  1. How You Sell Soul To A Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul
  2. Black is Back
  3. Harder Than You Think
  4. Between Hard and a Rock Place
  5. Sex, Drugs & Violence (feat KRS-One)
  6. Amerikan Gangster (feat E.Infinite)
  7. Can You Hear Me Now
  8. Head Wide Shut
  9. Flavor Man
  10. The Enemy Battle Hymn of the Public
  11. Escapism
  12. Frankenstar
  13. Col-Leepin
  14. Radiation of a Radiotvmovie
  15. See Something, Say Something
  16. Long and Whining Road
  17. Bridge of Pain
  18. Eve of Destruction
  19. How You Sell Soul (Time is God Refrain)

FuelFuel: Angels & Devils

Angels & Devils is Fuel’s fourth major label studio album and is their first studio album since the departure of longtime vocalist Brett Scallions and drummer Kevin Miller. This release will feature new lead vocalist Toryn Green and drummer Tommy Stewart.

The first single off of the album is “Wasted Time.”

Head songwriter Carl Bell spent more than two years writing material for the album, drawing inspiration from the departure of former members Kevin Miller and Brett Scallions as well as from his own relationship troubles.

Fuel has seen a string of hits such as, Shimmer and Hemorrhage (In My Hands). It’ll be interesting to see if they can repeat the formula with their new lineup.

I’ll look over the music later. You always have great music, so I know what’s in store.
    But….

Instead, I chose to read and learn about a woman who ran over her five year-old? It broke my heart. G-d!

I know that it’s news, but I just had to say…how sad!!!!!
