For this week’s Producer’s Spotlight, I have decided to showcase the up and coming production team of Cool & Dre. Hailing from one of the hottest cities in the United States — Miami, Florida — Marcello Valenzano and Andre Lyon have been quietly making their presence felt amongst entertainment industry heavyweights for the past four years. Their production and songwriting prowess has blessed the likes of 50 Cent, The Game, Slim Thug, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Diddy, Trick Daddy, Trina, and many others.
Although their discography may not be as big as The Neptunes or Kanye West, they have managed to produce a string of hits. With songs such as The Game’s “Hate It or Love It”, Ja Rule’s “New York”, and DJ Khaled’s “Holla At Me”, Cool & Dre have proved that they are a force not to be messed with.
Expect to hear more from this duo later this year as they have been working with David Banner, Lil’ Wayne, Freeway, Rick Ross, Mario, and Chris Brown on new material as well as material for their own album, hopefully dropping soon.
