Alicia Keys: New Song!

Alicia KeysWow, I normally don’t do this, but I just got a hold of an exclusive new song by Alicia Keys!  The song is called “No One” and is the first single off her new album As I Am, due out in November.

I’m a huge fan of Alicia Keys and I can’t believe it’s been two years since we’ve heard anything new from her and three years since her last album, The Diary of Alicia Keys. Well, I’ve listened to “No One” a few times just now and so far, I hate to say, I’m not impressed.  The song does not really showcase her vocal or writing skills.  It’s actually kind of average.  You can hear her on piano, but it’s nothing dramatic.  At first, I thought the song was a fake, as in the first verse she sounded strangely like Gloria Estefan.

At any rate, below is the link to download.  Let me know what you think.  I must warn you though that I did hear a couple of skips in the middle of the song.  Also, I do not own this link, nor is the file anywhere on my server, so I do not take responsibility for the leaking of this song.  Enjoy!

Don’t tell me that!! Like you, I feel Alicia is one of the more modern true “artists” and while I didn’t expect her to continue her music career (she claimed acting was her true calling and would solely pursue that) I was excited to hear about the new song…That is, before you gave your scathing review *smile* just kidding..but now I’m afraid to listen to it, but your honesty is always refreshing!

Well, listen to it and tell me what YOU think! You know she’s my girl, so my opinion SHOULD be biased. But I gotta keep it real — I ain’t feelin’ it.
