New Music Tuesday: October 16th

The Art of Love & WarWell, not much to report for new releases today. The only CD worth mentioning is the new release from Angie Stone, The Art of Love & War.

This is Ms. Stone’s first album of new material since 2004’s Stone Love. The first single released to radio is “Baby”, featuring Betty Wright. So far it has peaked at number twenty-two on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

I’m listening to this CD right now and I must say, it is nice and smooth. In the R&B category, I think I like this a lot better than the new Jill Scott CD. I don’t have the production credits in from of me but she does have a few guests on the album, with the most notable being James Ingram. If you’re a smooth R&B head, go ahead and pick up this new joint from Angie Stone. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Here’s the tracklist…

  1. Take Everything In
  2. Baby (featuring Betty Wright)
  3. Here We Go Again
  4. Make It Last
  5. Sometimes
  6. Go Back to Your Life
  7. Half a Chance
  8. These Are the Reasons
  9. My People (featuring James Ingram)
  10. Sit Down
  11. Play with It
  12. Pop Pop
  13. Wait for Me
  14. Happy Being Me (featuring Pauletta Washington)
