There’s only one album you should go out and purchased today: Little Brother’s Getback. Forget about the rest. Little Brother reminds you that all is not lost with hip hop in this day and age. Their new CD is the first since their departure with producer 9th Wonder. Some have been skeptical. Well, I’m here to reassure you. This CD is FIYAH! Although 9th is missed (he produced one track), other producers such as Illmind, Khrysis, and Nottz have stepped up to the plate to help Phonte and Pooh do what they do. So don’t even think about it; just go out and support Little Brother today. I’ve been listening to it since Phonte leaked it a little over a week ago and it is nuts! I’ll try to get a review up this week. Support the artist — buy the CD!
Ok, that’s my plug for today. The rest of the bunch isn’t even really worth mentioning. I mean we got the debut album for Hurricane Chris. Hurricane who? That kid that has that stupid song “A Bay Bay”. I hate that song! So that’s all I’m gonna say about him. Then we have a greatest hits compilation from our man Jermaine Dupri. Jermaine Dupri is a great producer! What? Why am I hating on him? Because he puts out this half-assed greatest hits effort with only 10 songs on it to support his book Young, Rich, and Dangerous: The Making of a Music Mogul. I think I may go out an cop his book, but forget the CD. I mean he does have some hits on there and I know he probably didn’t want to have more than one song by a single artist, but where’s Jagged Edge? Where’s Dem Franchize Boyz? Where’s Da Brat? Where’s Nelly? I mean he didn’t even have any new songs to add. Come one, he could have easily put at least 15 joints on here. I mean the man has been producing for 20 years! I’m gonna have to show him how it’s done in my next Producer’s Spotlight.
Go cop that Little Brother!
