You guys voted and it’s officially a TIE! That’s right, out of 209 votes, Kanye’s Graduation and Lupe’s The Cool were voted Best Album of the Year right here on this blog. Coming in right behind them was Jay’s American Gangster. Check the Poll Archives for the final results.
The next few polls are going to be dedicated to figuring out the best of the American Gangster remixes; track by track. I am listening to each track to determine which version of the songs are the best. I just got done sitting through 65+ versions of “Pray” and have narrowed it down to 10 contenders. I’d like everyone’s input. Of course, I’ll get final say for the compilation, but I need help deciding. So please vote! And if you don’t see your remix in the poll yet, no disrespect. If there’s another version you think is better, please leave a comment in the Chat Box. Thanks!

Honestly, I thought Kanye’s album was ehh…I been listening to Kanye since the Dynasty days. The Coll after listening to it over for 5 times it was just the name: Cool. I had to go back to LB’s Getback and say Getback was better than both of them. It’s just more of a popularity contest on the internet issue.
Yeah, that was my choice, Trusense. I can’t stop listening to Getback. My close second is Talib’s Eardrum. I think LB came in 4th in the poll with only 18 votes or so though.
i don’t know, so much great albums… get back for sure was an surprise, the cool is really “cool” and graduation… hmm… it still kanye but could be a lot better, i’m still waiting for another college dropout from kanye.
This track by track competition is what I’ve been waiting for! There’s too many remixes for me to get em all, and I really just wanna know which tracks in particular kill it. My vote so far for best single remix is the I Know (Supierior Remix) by KD. That use of Bill Withers (completely slept on in terms of samples) is so ill that you can skip the rest of the I Know remixes. So, Kev, whatchu think?
Nah, i think this Holladay I Know is the best, that samples killin, sounds like a kanye beat
I gotta say, I’ve listened to maybe 30 or so whole albums and the top track for me is ‘pray’ off U2 Gangster. The use of the sample goes so well with Jay-Z’s flow its as if it was made for it. First comment btw.
