There have been a few good names already mentioned here, but tbh it's just scratching the surface of what's out there in terms of ukhh... Plan B, Kano and Example, etc., are commercially viable artists with sounds more geared towards a wider listening audience, rather than being truly representative of the emerging and existing talent in the uk scene in my opinion... Foreign Beggars are definitely worth checking out, as are any releases by Task Force, Klashnekoff & Kyza (Terra Firma), Skinnyman (cop Council Estate of Mind if you haven't already), and Ramson Badbonez, my favourite uk mc at present - his mixtape is a MUST, trust me... Any fans of jumpoff freestyle battles are probably already familiar with Stig of the Dump and Rhyme Asylum (Possessed, etc..) who are also excellent mc's... Also, Sonnyjim is another v good example of uk talent... It's worth noting that whereas Dizzee's older albums are distinctively grime, his latest offering is alot more hip hop sounding - fans of his earlier grime sound might like to check Durrty Goodz, older Wiley releases, etc, etc...

I agree about Dizzee's voice being annoying, fair play to him for trying to come with something original tho. Gotta disagree about Mick Skinner being the best British MC, sorry but that is straight up crazy blanket statement! If he's the best (he has no flow and a fake London accent!), what's that saying about all the other dope Mc's (Skinnyman, Chester P, Roots Manuva, Phi life Cypher, Klashnekoff amongst others) who can really give alot of U.S rappers a run for their money?! I strongly urge any peeps out there interested in U.K Hiphop to check out the artists I just mentioned and check for 2 labels - Lowlife Records and Big Dada for some Wicked U.K hiphop Tunes.
