This Is Hip Hop Remix Contest: Week 8 Entries

nas.jpgCongratulations to Hellmorg who won week 7’s contest with his remix to Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones”. It was a real close contest between him and Blinky, but ultimately Hellmorg took the crown. This last week, a lot of new faces, along with some of the regulars, showed up to remix Nas‘ “NY State of Mind, Part 2″. This week has had the most entries yet!

It’s been an interesting contest thus far, but it ain’t over. We still have four more tracks left to remix for the final compilation, but everyone needs a break. I’m going out of town on vacation later this week and have decided to put the contest on hold until I get back. So take some time out to get them creative juices flowing and be ready to hit these next batch of remixes hard. I should be posting the next track to remix on the night of Sunday April 6th.

For now, we’ll open the polls for the Nas remixes. Check them out below and make sure you vote on the right. Remember you must be registered with this site to vote; please don’t let that discourage you. The polls will close Saturday March 29th at 11:59pm EST. As an added bonus, the winner for this week will win a $25 gift certificate which can be used at BarrysTickets.com.

Here are the entries for Week 8: Nas’ “NY State of Mind, Pt. 2”…

I give the Nodd to Que Rico…on point.

A few other decent ones but some of you guys need to work on sound quality or get better monitors.

Shame Buttertoast’s quality was so poor. I like his beat change-ups. His track sounds nice a raw.

Thanks DJ Gaffle for the compilnment. And anyway im from Ireland and im 15 so i havent really acquired much music equipment so i had to use a crappy computer gaming microphone that cost £5 (which is more or less the same quality as a $5 mic) to record the samples from a experimental classical radio channel. My band thing is http://www.bebo.com/BigBadBand thx
