We got 2 tracks left for the New York edition of the contest. I can’t wait to get the mixtape out there with all the winners. Hopefully we’ll get some good feedback. These last couple of weeks have brought more and more contestants to the table and I thank you all for participating.
Before we get to this week’s track, let’s run back over the preliminaries. Here’s the deal… for 12 weeks, we’re gonna hold a weekly contest… 12 weeks/12 mixes. The way it’ll work is every Saturday night I will provide the song to be remixed for the week. There will be 2 links… the acapella and the song in it’s original version (for reference). You will have one week to complete your remix. Entries will be taken until 11:59pm EDT the following Saturday. Then on Sunday morning we’ll have a new poll on the blog for people to vote for their favorite mix. Voting will take place for one week while the next mix is underway. At the end of the 12 weeks, I’ll put together a compilation album of all the winners for each week with a kick ass cover designed by Krome. Sound cool? I know some people are gonna be like, “what’s the prize?”. The prize is inclusion on the compilation album and exposure on this site. I got nothing else to offer.
To submit your entry: Upload your remix in mp3 format to one of your favorite file sharing locations (ie, Rapidshare, MediaFire, MegaUpload, ZShare, etc) and leave a comment in this post with your name and your link. Some readers have requested the contestants use ZShare. So if you can, upload to ZShare. DO NOT email me any links… they will be ignored. This process is to make it easier for me so I don’t have to post everyone’s links. The production is open ended (for now), meaning there are no stipulations. Original productions are highly encouraged, but blends will be accepted as well.
I was going through the tracks that you all have remixed so far, and I said to myself, “Self, where’s the ladies?” That’s right, you know who I’m about to throw at you…. The Queen B herself, Lil’ Kim. Back on her debut album, Hardcore, Lil’ Kim did a track with the Notorious B.I.G. and Lil’ Cease. “Crush On You“, is my favorite from the album and was originally produced by Andreo ‘Fanatic’ Heard. By the way, for the crate diggers, we got a Hardcore sample set in the works too. Below are the tracks to download and good luck!
The cut-off to submit your remix is Saturday, April 26, 2008 @ 11:59pm EDT.

I’m loving this AWOL Remix album. Great sound.
Good looking out. I did the joint for fun a while back and this site made me decide to put it out for cats to hear. Glad you liked it.
But yo real talk, your remix beat for the 50 cent/ROC boys joint got me ready to rhyme to it crazy. You Nice with yours.
Peace
I put the instrumentals up on myspace. I also used it for Roc Boys.
