Tough Luv: Original Samples

Tough Luv: Original Samples

Here’s a sample set you probably weren’t expecting. Yeah, we try to keep it fresh around here. The classic hip hop sample sets are just what they are… classic. However, it’s nice to showcase those albums that didn’t really get their shine when they were released and probably deserve a little more props. That’s how I feel about Young Gunz debut album, Tough Luv.

Thomas hit me up with this set out of left field over the weekend. We have our planned sets, but sometimes we’ll get a vibe about an album and knock out the set real quick. That’s what Thomas did here and I was pleasantly surprised when this was sitting in my inbox. Tough Luv has some real nice gems on it, particularly the tracks that are produced by Just Blaze and the song “No Better Luv”. If only they had included the original version of “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop”, instead of that crappy remix with Chingy. Oh well… where’s Young Chris and Young Neef at now?

Wow, over 130 downloads in less than 20 hours and not a single comment? Maybe we’ll just keep our samples to ourselves Thomas.

That many dl….I’m taken the folks are liking it. A comment every now and then would be great. It helps Kev out to know what ya’ll want. He’s putting in a lot of work for his loyal readers.

This joint was slept on. A lot of good songs (even the commerical ones). That “Parade” joint is crazy…the sample and song. Young Chris seem to have a good future for himself, but…who knows what happend.

I’ve not d/loaded this collection yet, and I’ve commented before but i just wanna thank you for doing these collections. Since i got a computer and Serato last year and switched to mp3s your blog’s become one of my regular reads. I’ve been crate digging and producing in the UK for some years now, but these sample sets are great for hearing how the big producers dig, chop and loop stuff up. But also, they make great listening in their own rights too. Cheers guys, sorry for not commenting before.

That parade joint is crazy. Chad West was a beast when it came to beats. How about some sample sets for the 2 state property albums and beanie’s first 2 albums?

    U should do a producer’s spotlight on Chad “ChadWesOnTrak” hamilton. . .
he has done a lot of stuff that people dont know about

Hey Kev, what you do for a lot of uneducated people is really dope. it’s a refreshing thing to be able to hear the essence of the music we make today, by making alot of tracks available to cats that wouldn’t have them otherwise… as an emcee/producer, but also a fan of Hip Hop, I tip my hat off to you brother.
