Whoa, when I threw Outkast and Al Green out there last week to you all, I had no idea the heat that was gonna come back! 39 people remixed Outkast’s “Elevators (Me and You)” with some old school Al Green. Aside from the great production, a few other things surprised me… few of you sampled the same Al Green track, which I thought was great. Al Green has a huge library and you all took advantage of it. I was also happy to see a few cats sample joints off of Al Green’s new album… good stuff!

I thought us judges had a hard time with the Rakim remixes (results coming soon), but I don’t know how we’re gonna get through these! I got an idea floating around in my head and I’m just gonna throw it out there. I’m thinking about putting together a bonus mixtape based on this weeks tracks alone. It’ll be sort of an Al Green re-imaged beat tape… instrumentals only. So after I get done going through all these remixes for this week, I’ll be contacting the ones that I would like included (between 10 - 15), to see if you wouldn’t mind donating your instrumentals. Once I get all my thoughts sorted out, I’ll post up more info… but it’s just an idea for now.
