Ready To Die: The O.G. Edition

Now this is just amazing!  I know it’s been floating around the Net all day, but I just got finished listening to it.  Thanks to my fellow Miamian, Jorge, at Bang The Box for sharing.  If you haven’t got it yet, this is a must download!  Original versions and demos to the tracks that made [...]

Godfather Buried Alive: Original Samples

Here’s the other Shyne sample set and the last one for today.  Props to Thomas for bangin’ these out!  We got a ton of requests and a long list that we’re working on… enjoy!

Shyne: Original Samples

Someone requested some Shyne samples.  Here’s the first album.  Second one coming up next!

Uncontrolled Substance: Original Samples

Here are the samples from Wu-Tang member, Inspectah Deck’s 1999 solo debut — Uncontrolled Substance.

H.N.I.C: Original Samples

Prodigy’s solo debut, released in 2000.  Lots of great production on here from The Alchemist, Just Blaze, and Havoc.  Always interesting to hear the original samples, but this set doesn’t have much replay value… personal opinion.  I know a lot of people have been wanting this set though, so here it is!

9th Wonder Diss Track

Only if you have a ton of time on your hands, head over to The Lawn and check out this funny ass thread about how some dude named Slack put out a diss record against 9th Wonder. Personally, I couldn’t keep up with the thread, but apparently Slack was mad cuz he couldn’t get any [...]

Don Cerino + DJ Premier = DOPE!

My man Don Cerino recently did sort of a Jackin’ 4 Beats over some of Preemo’s classics. These two NEED to hook up, cuz Cerino just sounds so natural on these beats.

Biggie vs. Rolling Stones

We posted a lot of great stuff on the site lately, so I’m gonna try and take a breather today… TRY.  Just so we give you something today, here’s a little something I saw over at illroots.com last night.  Biggie Smalls over some Rolling Stones tunes.  I haven’t heard it yet, but you can’t go [...]

Internal Affairs: Original Samples

We got a ton more sample sets to put up, but can’t get em out fast enough!  Here’s a small set to hold you all over.  Internal Affairs was the 1999 solo debut from Pharoahe Monch.  Incredible album, but because of the illegal use of the “Godzilla Theme Song” as a sample in “Simon Says”, [...]

Buff1 Special on 14k Gold Radio

I’ve seen this one posted around on the other sites and normally I don’t like to post what everyone else is posting, but I support Buff1 and I support UniverSOUL Productions, so here it is…
UniverSOUL Productions got together with 14 Karat Gold Radio to bring you this intimate session with Buff1. The podcast includes [...]

Crooklyn Gangster: Original Samples

Since we’re on the topic of American Gangster remixes, you may remember  one of my favorites from the bunch… Small Professor’s Crooklyn Gangster.
Small Pro’s a huge fan of our Diggin’ in Da Crates series and he recently hit me up with the original samples he used for Crooklyn Gangster. Lots of great stuff in here… [...]

J Clyde: Virginian Gangster

It’s been a LONG TIME since we’ve posted an American Gangster remix album on the site.  Remember those days when that’s basically all we posted? Well my homie J Clyde hit me up with his version and I could not resist the post.
Most of you all know I live in Miami now, but my roots [...]

The State of Hip Hop: Trance, House & Techno

What’s next?
Hip Hop has always had movements and it’s good to feel some fresh air in every genre of music. In the last years we’ve had the screwed hooks out of Texas bumpin’ through our speakers, we’ve had stupid lyrics with their own dance, the South floating the radio stations, and at the moment we [...]

Termanology: How We Rock

Termanology hooks up with Multi-Platinum rapper Bun B of UGK & producer DJ Premier for his new single “How We Rock.”
When asked how the collaboration came about, Term stated “Around the time when I released “Watch How It Go Down,” Bun B reached out to Premier and expressed interest in working with me.” I ended [...]

Ludacris: The Preview

Luda teamed up with DJ Drama for this Preview mixtape before the new album drops.  I’ve always been a fan of Luda… should be some good stuff! Theater of The Mind drops this fall!

ATCQ: Midnight Marauders

1993 is considered by some hip hop enthusiasts to be the pinnacle of the new breed of hip hop. It broke away from the usually fun, braggadocio style of rap and moved to a more serious, introspective and self conscious type of genre. Illmatic began heavy development in 93, Enter the 36 Chambers had the [...]

Joe Budden: Mood Muzik 3 [QUE R!CO Sessions]

My man QueR!CO is back in the spot!  I know he’s been working on this album for a while, and he finally put it out this weekend.  I just got done listening to it, and the beats are fire!  I’m not much of a Budden fan myself, but R!CO made this album listenable for me. [...]
