The Persuaders: “We’re Just Trying To Make It”
From the album Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me (1974)
Nas: “Come Get Me”
From the album Nastradamus (1999)
Produced by DJ Premier
Nas: “N.I.G.G.E.R. (The Slave & The Master)”
From the album Untitled (2008)
Produced by DJ Toomp
Picking up from the awesome review Deez just wrote, here’s a sample that that has been used in two of Nas’ tracks. I think it’s obvious who the “premier” DJ is here, but I’ll let you all decide. On another note, the Butter Team has recently taken a play on our Who Flipped It series and put some emcees against each other instead of the producers. Go check it out. It’s actually right in line with a comment G.C. made recently.

Primo FTW!!!!
it’s funny how they both used the same joint for Nas but the tracks are like night and day.

LOVEE!
I’ll post what i do with it afterwards, hopefully it works how i think it will.
gptta go with Toomp on this one.. Usually i’d go with Premo but Toomp wrecked that sample.
*cough*…the Spinners did the original… not the Temptations
Preemo on this one he chopped it up nicely. Lyrics on the Toomp joint trump “Come and Get Me”.
Yeah, I liked how Preemo chopped it up. it’s amazing how totally different these two songs are.
@Deez… Spinners? Temptations? The track is by the Persuaders. Did I miss something?
LOL Kev, I wasn’t talking about this track, I was talking about another track
wow im lost
First off I forgot how much I hated the Nastradamus this was one of three tracks that I liked but Toomp production sounded more smooth and mellow not mention the lyrical content on the track
Premo!
toomp had the better one simply because he made a single out of it. true premo did do a good job at scratching but doesnt he always.
jayz couldnt come harder than fabolous on the millie beat so..conclusion preemo is better at beat making but toomp makes $ingles
hey toomp brought tha new school south flav with that
primo hit that classic older style that he perfected .
they are both good but primo
