DJ BIG TEXAS is back with another west coast sample mix! After his last Ice Cube mix, he decided to drop an EP from N.W.A. For those that like their hip hop mixed with the original samples, these mixes are for you. Up next, I hear Big Texas will be giving Mary J Blige the [...]

Another project totally produced by DJ Premier, Wrath of The Math is the sophomore album from Jeru The Damaja, released in 1996.

1998’s debut album from The LOX had Bad Boy written all over it. With production by Puffy’s Hitmen and Dame Grease, Money Power & Respect introduced the world to Jadakiss, Sheek Louch, and Styles P. Now known as D-Block, the trio is set to give us a new album this November. Can’t wait. Here are [...]

This 1994 debut from Bad Boy artist Craig Mack was the second project released by Bad Boy Records. The first being the Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready To Die, Project: Funk Da World was highly overshadowed by the success of Biggie’s debut.
Executively produced by Puffy, this album includes the regular Bad Boy producers Easy Mo Bee for [...]

It’s been a minute since we’ve dropped a dope sample set on you all. Just so you know, Kev and I have been hard at work and we have quite a few sets lined up for release soon.
This one’s for all you Preemo heads out there! The Sun Rises in The East is the 1994 [...]

To compliment this week’s dedication to everything Ghostface, here are all of the sample sets compiled over the months for every one of Ghostface’s solo albums. While we have put together four of these sets, props need to go out to Hip-Hop Is Read and Goon for their contributions.
Other complete sample compilations:
Nas: [...]

Due in stores this Tuesday, August 26, The Game’s LAX has already made it’s way around the Internet. For the first time ever, we have compiled the samples for an album before it hits store shelves. There’s no telling yet if this list is complete, but this is what is known so far…

DJ BIG TEXAS is back again and just in time for the release of Ice Cube’s new album Raw Footage. This mix right here of Ice Cube’s 1991 EP Kill At Will is classic just for all the samples that were used in “Jackin’ For Beats”. This is a BIG TEXAS exclusive and done up [...]

My man Goon hooked up with Thomas to compile the samples to Black Milk’s Popular Demand. This album was a favorite of mine, as well as others, last year. If you don’t have this album in your collection, make sure to pick it up. And go check out the samples over at Goon’s site!

A Tribe Called Quest’s The Low End Theory was one of the first sample sets we compiled here on the site. Fast forward seven months later, we realized we made a lot of mistakes on that release. Close to 20 missing samples for one and there were also a few mistakes in credit listings. We’ll [...]

This set right here was a no-brainer; although we’ve never done a set like this before. As soon as Deez suggested it in the CBox, I was on it! Isaac Hayes brought so much to this world; music and inspiration are only a small piece of the pie. This collection right here is dedicated to [...]

Well, well, well… what do we have here? Probably one of the most requested sample sets since the album’s release last year. It is also the sample set that’s I’ve been working on the longest in our sample set’s short history (I put the first sample found in this folder shortly after Getback was released). [...]

Ah, finally, a new sample set to get you all through the weekend. And this one is a monster! Released in 1991, Breaking Atoms is the debut album from Main Source. This album is highly regarded thanks to the virtuoso production of frontman Large Professor, whose heavy and original use of sampling influenced hip hop [...]

DJ Big Texas is back with part 2 to The Geto Essentials. It’s been a couple of months since he dropped part 1, but make sure you grab both of these. If you know Big Texas’ style, you know he does it up big!

Here’s the other Shyne sample set and the last one for today. Props to Thomas for bangin’ these out! We got a ton of requests and a long list that we’re working on… enjoy!

Someone requested some Shyne samples. Here’s the first album. Second one coming up next!

Here are the samples from Wu-Tang member, Inspectah Deck’s 1999 solo debut — Uncontrolled Substance.

Prodigy’s solo debut, released in 2000. Lots of great production on here from The Alchemist, Just Blaze, and Havoc. Always interesting to hear the original samples, but this set doesn’t have much replay value… personal opinion. I know a lot of people have been wanting this set though, so here it is!

We got a ton more sample sets to put up, but can’t get em out fast enough! Here’s a small set to hold you all over. Internal Affairs was the 1999 solo debut from Pharoahe Monch. Incredible album, but because of the illegal use of the “Godzilla Theme Song” as a sample in “Simon Says”, [...]

Since we’re on the topic of American Gangster remixes, you may remember one of my favorites from the bunch… Small Professor’s Crooklyn Gangster.
Small Pro’s a huge fan of our Diggin’ in Da Crates series and he recently hit me up with the original samples he used for Crooklyn Gangster. Lots of great stuff in here… [...]
