We first heard this track a year and a half ago on HiPNOTT Records’ 2010 Takeover mixtape and it later showed up on Preach’s own Rebel Radio EP. Goes to show you can still make a video and push a hot song a year after it’s release!

Mo’ Betta Soul (MBS) is a performance concept with the idea of “music, art & coffee” where intimate shows are put together combining visual artists and performing artists. The creator (Preach Jacobs) is based out of Columbia, SC and the concept has gotten great attention. The idea of not going through conventional venues but instead have a DIY attitude to bring new music and art to the people.

The idea, simple as it may be, is a concept that we hope to take to other cities. We aim to take the concept of MBS to cities outside of Columbia but understand that in order to do so we need funding for travel expenses and artist compensation. We try to keep the shows free (when we are able to) and want to be able to spread this concept.

They have a KickStarter page set up where fans can pledge to help back this project.

South Carolina emcee Preach Jacobs is preparing to release a new project with producer Katrah-Quey on his brand new imprint, Sounds Familiar Records. The name of the project is Rebel Radio and you can listen to a sampler after the cut. The first single from the project is “Go Back”, which may sound familiar as it was featured on my HiPNOTT 2010 Takeover, Vol 1 mixtape back in January. The song is hot and you can download that here at well.
